Sue Liburd MBE wins Director of the Year Award 2021 for EDI

We are delighted to celebrate with Sue as she receives the Institute of Directors (IOD) Director of the Year Award 2021 for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (Midlands Region). Sue champions diversity and inclusion in all that she does, promoting the importance and understanding of intersectionality and equality as a driver for business success. She is a consulting partner at the EGC and also one of our PhD students. Well done Sue!

Race Matters launches 27 October 2021

As part of our Race Equality Project, and in celebration of BHM 2021, we are proud to be launching a new programme in our Diversity and Inclusion Lecture Series later this month. Race Matters will join our successful Be Inspired! and Young Minds programmes, and will offer thought-provoking, lived-, and insightful narratives that aim to broaden attitudes toward the topic of race, exploring and challenging discrimination in a multidimensional way

Proud to be: Black History Month 2021

Black History Month UK has launched its new campaign to mark BHM2021 (October). Inspired by the 2020 Black Lives Matter events, the new campaign is called 'Proud To Be'. It invites Black and Brown people of all ages throughout the UK to share what they are proud to be - Proud To Be Black, Proud To Be Brown, Proud To Be Black & LGBTQ+, Proud To Be Me. To celebrate, the University has planned a programme of thought-provoking events and activities across the campus, across the City and on-line – to raise awareness, share our knowledge, and learn from each other

University of Lincoln receives Race Equality Charter Bronze award

The University of Lincoln has received the prestigious Race Equality Charter Bronze Award for its efforts to tackle racial inequality. Having signed the Race Equality Charter in 2016, we are now one of only 21 UK universities to hold the Bronze Award status from Advance HE. The Award recognises the work the University has been engaged in over the last few years to identify and reflect on institutional and cultural barriers facing our Black, Asian and ethnic minority staff and students.
