We are delighted to celebrate with Sue as she receives the Institute of Directors (IOD) Director of the Year Award 2021 for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (Midlands Region). Sue champions diversity and inclusion in all that she does, promoting the importance and understanding of intersectionality and equality as a driver for business success. She is a consulting partner at the EGC and also one of our PhD students. Well done Sue!

Black History Month UK has launched its new campaign to mark BHM2021 (October). Inspired by the 2020 Black Lives Matter events, the new campaign is called 'Proud To Be'. It invites Black and Brown people of all ages throughout the UK to share what they are proud to be - Proud To Be Black, Proud To Be Brown, Proud To Be Black & LGBTQ+, Proud To Be Me. To celebrate, the University has planned a programme of thought-provoking events and activities across the campus, across the City and on-line – to raise awareness, share our knowledge, and learn from each other
The University of Lincoln has received the prestigious Race Equality Charter Bronze Award for its efforts to tackle racial inequality. Having signed the Race Equality Charter in 2016, we are now one of only 21 UK universities to hold the Bronze Award status from Advance HE. The Award recognises the work the University has been engaged in over the last few years to identify and reflect on institutional and cultural barriers facing our Black, Asian and ethnic minority staff and students.
Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support. Families and households have changed massively over the past decades. Alongside these changes, some couples are arranging work and family roles non-normatively, with the father assuming primary responsibility for childcare and the mother bearing primary responsibility for breadwinning. Because these family arrangements are so recent and rare, little is known about the circumstances and considerations that lead to the allocation of family roles
