The five stages of EIA


Stage 1: Define the focus – provide basic information on what the EIA is about, who is involved, and the timelines

 

Stage 2: Gather the evidence – collate and summarise the evidence you are basing your assessment on

 

Stage 3: Assess the impact – determine any negative, positive, or neutral impacts on different groups of people

 

Stage 4: Build the action plan – set out any actions required to mitigate negative impacts and promote positive impacts

 

Stage 5: Submit for sign off – your EIA will be checked and approved by the EDI team
