Celebrating: Dr Nadia Gulko - LIBS
Nadia is the Director of Teaching & Learning in the Department of Accountancy, Finance and Economics. She has been named the 'Global Champion for Teaching Excellence 2020' by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. This is the latest in a long line of awards that includes the Teaching Excellence Award 2017/18, Vice Chancellor’s Award in Teaching 2018, and Best Practice Award 2019 (Increasing Student Engagement)
Commenting on her outstanding achievement, Nadia said, “This is a great honour for me to become the Global Champion 2020 in the ‘CIMA Teaching Excellence Award’ nomination! For me, this prestigious award is a result of hard work and dedication to the profession, with students at the heart of everything I do. I am immensely grateful to all my students, colleagues, family, and friends who have supported me all along this amazing journey. And my special thanks go to CIMA for their continued support to our students and for having organised such a spectacular virtual celebration with academic partners across the globe.”
Nadia teaches and researches in the areas of Management Accounting and CSR. She is CIMA-qualified, a SFHEA, and a member of EAA/BAFA. Passionate about teaching, Nadia effectively employs innovative, research- and practitioner-engaged teaching and technology to enhance her students’ learning experience and satisfaction. Nadia received the Teaching Excellence Award 2017/18, Vice Chancellor’s Award in Teaching 2018, and Best Practice Award 2019 (Increasing Student Engagement). She is a seasoned CIMA representative and leads a peer-learning project of supporting international students.
