Celebrating: Jade Willett, Assistant Catering Manager
Jade was shortlisted for the TUCO Outstanding Achievement Award for the University of Lincoln's catering department, FoodLinc. Throughout the Pandemic Jade has continued to redefine catering at the University of Lincoln with essential initiatives supporting staff and students
In July 2019, Jade was nominated as one of three people across the industry to be recognised in the category of 'Outstanding Achievement' at the TUCO Awards. Speaking of the nomination Jade said, "Having only been with the University of Lincoln since August 2018, this was a particularly proud moment, and an honour to have been considered alongside those with many more years’ experience."
Some of the highlights which led to this nomination included revamping food offers and menus for the department, increasing hospitality opportunities, and successful high-profile events, ranging from executive fine-dining to large-scale conferencing and graduation. During this period The Lincoln Pier Café was also opened – adopting a very different style to other catering outlets across the University.
Throughout the Pandemic Jade has continued to redefine catering at the University of Lincoln with essential initiatives such as supplying key workers across the University with free healthy lunches during the first lockdown in March 2020. Since then, she has continued supporting students, providing home-cooked meal options for both pick-up and delivery, and in cases where students have been ill or self-isolating even arranged prescriptions to be delivered. In addition to ensuring the catering team was providing a stellar service to staff and students, Jade has also worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure sufficient health and safety measures are consistently monitored and updated, keeping her team safe.
