Eleanor Glanville Centre Open House
Joseph Banks Laboratories Board Room (JBL3C01)
The EGC Open House Day aims to give staff across the University the opportunity to come and see how the Centre is developing, how they can engage with it and how their research can be incorporated.
Staff are invited to contribute ideas and activities, help build our website – our platform for gender and equality research, and the Centre’s directors will be available to discuss ideas, queries and suggestions.
The Open House will take place in the Joseph Banks Laboratories Board Room JBL3C01
There will be three session to choose from:
08:30 - 10:30 Breakfast session
11:30 - 14:00 Lunch session
15:00 - 16:00 Afternoon session

Prof Belinda Colston
Professor of Analytical Chemistry & Cultural Heritage
Belinda has been leading the University’s gender equality initiatives in STEM since 2012. A nuclear chemist by training, she is particularly interested in the progression of female academics in STEM subject areas and has developed a number of supportive initiatives at Lincoln. Academic profile

Prof Lucie Armitt
Director (College of Arts)
Lucie, Professor in Contemporary English Literature, is a specialist in the fields of contemporary women’s writing, the literary fantastic and the Gothic. She is an Associate Editor of the award-winning OUP journal Contemporary Women’s Writing and founding Treasurer of the Contemporary Women’s Writing Association. Academic profile

Professor Jacqui Briggs (deceased)
Professor for the Public Understanding of Political Science
Jacqui is Head of the School of Social and Political Sciences. Her interests include Anti-Politics, Thinking Politics and Gender, Globalisation and Sexuality, with her research currently centring on youth political participation, young women and politics, and the issue of compulsory voting. She is the Associate Editor for the journal European Political Science. Academic profile

Dr Deirdre Anderson
Director (Business)
Deirdre is Head of the Department of People & Organisations. Her research interests include gendered careers, women’s management pipeline, flexibility, and work and family (especially in different cultures). In all of her work she seeks to increase awareness of diversity and inclusion, challenging the often unconscious processes which can limit individual actions and organizational practices. With a background in executive education, Deirdre specialises in women only leadership programmes. Academic profile
