The evening is to help inspire, educate and engage the local community - providing development and networking opportunities. Whether you are a coach, referee, committee member, player, student or interested staff member - whatever role you play in enhancing the women and girls game - we want to invite you come and celebrate International Women’s Day with us.
International Women's Day (March 8th) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.
IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organisation specific.
The campaign theme for International Women's Day 2024 is Inspire Inclusion. When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world.
And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. Collectively, let's forge a more inclusive world for women.
Contact Dr Mistrelle Ellmore for further information on the event or to volunteer to support the event.
